Captain Jon began fishing on his father’s boat, the Crack-A-Dawn, at
the young age of 3. As he grew older, his love for the water and boats
grew and he started to work as first mate, learning the ins and outs of
boating. When he turned 19, Jon received his 100 Gross Ton near
Coastal Master’s License. After the tragic events of September 11,
Captain Jon started to work in New York Harbor, operating fast ferries
between New York City and New Jersey. In 2007, Captain Jon wanted
to expand his knowledge of boats and decided to take the “Small Craft
and Yacht surveying” class at Chapman’s School of Seamanship in
Stuart, Florida. Upon completion of this class, Captain Jon joined his
father and formed Captain Moro, LLC. In 2012, Captain Jon decided to
further his career in the maritime industry and moved to Washington,
DC, where he served as the Director of Marine Operations for a
sightseeing company in our nation’s capital. Currently, Captain Jon
heads up Captain Moro, LLC for the Washington, DC, Maryland, and
Northern Virginia area while also working for one of our nation’s largest
dinner cruise companies.
